What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a process of relaxing the body so your subconscious mind can take the driver seat. It is not about the body going to sleep, it’s just a sleep of the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is the critical mind. It’s the mind that says “no, that’s not possible”. The subconscious mind is the waking mind, the emotional mind. The subconscious mind never sleeps, and it remembers everything.

In hypnosis, we put the conscious mind to sleep, so that we can talk directly to the subconscious mind to find out how, when, where, and why you came up with a belief that’s no longer working in your favour, then we reframe that belief so that it works FOR you instead of AGAINST you

What does hypnosis feel like?

Most people think that hypnosis is a totally different state of being, where they will go to sleep and not be able to remember what happened. While this is true of some types of hypnosis (think stage hypnosis), I take you to a very light level. This means we can still interact, and you can tell me what's going on. 

While some people do experience some different feelings such as floating, tingling, body displacement (feel like they are leaning over when they are sitting upright), most people actually only experience a feeling of deep, wonderful relaxation. 

In fact, A lot of my clients tell me they wish they didn't have to come back because the experience of relaxation was so wonderful.

Does it work?

Yes, hypnosis will work for you if you have a desire to make change.

Hypnosis can't make a person do something they don't WANT to do, I can't make you cluck like a chicken while under hypnosis for example unless you really want to, but it's the same for those habits that you are looking to change. 

The mind can't hold two conflicting beliefs, so you can't say "I want to quit smoking because it's expensive, but I really love smoking". The love of smoking would cancel the desire to quit, because the two beliefs conflict, and because the love of smoking is an emotional response, so the subconscious will accept this easier than the logical desire to quit smoking for your finances.

Can I be hypnotised?

Yes, everyone can be hypnotised.

You go in and out of hypnosis multiple times a day, when you’re daydreaming in the car, the moments just before sleep, when you walk into a room and forget why you went in there, these are times you naturally enter the hypnotic level.

For some people, the induction may take longer, but this is just because they aren’t used to actively taking themselves into hypnotic state, but just because it takes longer doesn't mean it's not successful. 

We will absolutely get you into hypnosis, and we will absolutely get to the root cause of your presenting problem.

How can it help me?

Hypnosis can help you both overcome issues and enhance positive attributes.

How long does it take?

Getting into hypnosis is easy, it will only take a few minutes. The session itself (after induction) is will take 60 – 90 minutes.

The number of sessions you need will vary, some issues can be resolved in 1 session, others might need 2 or 3. It all depends on how strongly you hold onto a belief and how ready you are to change your beliefs. No issues will take longer than 3 sessions to resolve.
